Brain and spinal cord removal using the occipital wedge approach

This animation was born out of a need in my university’s gross anatomy lab for a 3D model that accurately depicted the final step in brain removal with an emphasis on cranial nerve preservation using the occipital wedge approach. The goal of this animation was improve students’ visual-spatial awareness and understanding in regards to cranial nerves II and II and the internal carotid artery.
